Check Out these New Steam Deck Skins
https://steamdeckhq.com/news/razer-is-selling-some-awesome-steam-deck-skins/
Looking at the selection after seeing this post on Reddit, I am genuinely shocked that I missed this. Razer has 9 different Steam Deck skins that are available to purchase, ranging from $34.99 to $39.99, which is generally around the middle of the price points I have seen for other skins. According to the page, each skin is made with 3M Cast Vinyl and has a smooth, durable finish. However, unlike other skins, these designs are some of my new favorites.
New Steam Controller FOR REAL
Valve said that they want to make a new Steam Controller back in 2022, but such a thing might be getting closer to production, according to dataminer Brad Lynch.
“Codename for Steam Controller 2 is ‘Ibex’. Separate product from Deckard’s “Roy” controller(s),” Lynch tweeted, as spotted by The Verge. “Both are being tooled for a mass production goal in their factories right now. That’s why I know they’re in later stages of productization”.
Deckard is reportedly the codename for a standalone VR headset from Valve. They have made occasional and dull patent filings in recent years that could be for such a headset. The “Roy” controllers are reportedly new motion controls designed for use with the new VR headset.
In another tweet, Lynch says that the Roy controllers will “have at least: DPAD, Bumpers, Grip Buttons, Triggers, ABXY, system button, and some sort of strap”.
“I am confident in this info based on datamining AND sources who wished not to be named,” Lynch writes.
SteamOS 3.0 Just got a Nice NVIDIA Update
Valve has recently released a Proton Experimental update that fixes numerous bugs and performance issues while adding support for NVIDIA’s DLSS 3 technology, which includes NVIDIA’s Optical Flow API that enables DLSS 3 Frame Generation to run on modern GeForce RTX 40 Series graphics cards.
This update doesn’t mean Valve will release Steam Deck 2 with an NVIDIA APU, but it certainly paves the way for precisely that. It finally lets GeForce RTX 40 Series owners running Linux enable Frame Generation, if nothing else.
However, with rumors that NVIDIA is looking to release its first Arm-based APU with GeForce RTX graphics in 2025 – a chip that will deliver up to GeForce RTX 4070 laptop levels of performance – Valve could be eyeing such a chip for the upcoming Steam Deck 2.
