Titanfall 2 – 60 FPS – Highest Graphics – Steam Deck Gameplay #steamdeck
Today we are taking a look at Titanfall 2 on the Steam Deck. The game came out in 2016 and was somewhat popular. People still play multiplayer today and I was able to join a match.
Similar to its predecessor, Titanfall 2 is a first-person shooter where players can control both a pilot and their Titans—mecha-style robots that stand roughly seven to ten meters tall. The pilot has a large variety of equipment that enhance their abilities during combat. All pilots have a jump kit which assists with parkour, double-jumping, and wall-running
The game is certainly old at this point, and the Steam deck is able to handle it quite well. I am able to run it at the highest graphical settings and keep a stable 60 FPS, only occasionally dropping to 55, even in multiplayer. At the Highest settings Titanfall 2 will run for about 1 hour and 45 minutes on the Steam Deck. Changing graphical settings to the lowest yields much better battery life results at over 3 hours and 15 minutes in singleplayer.
The game will auto-install the EA Launcher the first time around and ask you to log in. This only happens one time and is a much smoother experience than Ubisoft Connect for example.
The game looks phenomenal even on the lowest settings, but I suppose tinkering around with some of the settings and switching some to high and medium will yield the best results for smooth and long gameplay sessions.
Overall Titanfall 2 is still a pretty great game even only for the singleplayer. I was able to pick up Titanfall 2 for only 2.99 Euro So its a great deal when on sale.
Footage was captured directly on the Deck using a plugin called Decky Recorder.
