Watch Dogs – 55 FPS – Medium Settings – Steam Deck Gameplay and Benchmark #steamdeck

Today we are checking out the first Watch Dogs game on the Steam Deck.

Set within a fictionalized version of the Chicago metropolitan area in 2013, the first installment in the series follows gray hat hacker and vigilante Aiden Pearce’s quest for revenge after the killing of his niece.

The game was notorious for not being very optimized back when it came out in 2014 and it shows on the Steam Deck. Even at the lowest settings there are significant stutters down to 50 FPS on some heavy scenes. This may be caused by the fact that the game is installed through Ubisoft Connect.

I benchmarked the game across various different settings. Overall you can get 55-60 FPS In Watch Dogs on the Steam Deck most of the time. However battery will last only for 1 hour 45 minutes. Reducing to 40Hz and 40 FPS will give you battery life over 2 hours and you can bump up the graphics to some High options.

Watch Dogs has a great story despite all the shortcomings and I recommend this game on the Steam Deck.
