Can the Steam Deck run Atomic Heart?
Today we are taking a look at the game Atomic Heart on the Steam Deck.
Atomic Heart is a single-player first-person shooter set in an alternate history version of the Soviet Union during the 1950s. The game features a retro futuristic utopia that quickly collapses into a dystopia due to a robot uprising. Players navigate the world of Atomic Heart, encountering a wide variety of enemies, including mechanical, biomechanical, and biological foes, while utilizing improvised weapons and a crafting system to survive. Atomic Heart also incorporates unique elements such as a special glove granting powers like telekinesis and freezing, adding depth to the combat experience.
When it comes to the Atomic Heart system requirements, the Steam Deck ticks most of the boxes. However, those with the 64GB base model will need one of the best Steam Deck SD cards to install the game. Atomic Heart runs surprisingly well on the Steam Deck and is generally an enjoyable experience. The Deck does get pretty hot pretty fast, however and the battery life is merely an hour and 25 minutes. Even though Atomic Heart runs great on the Steam Deck I think it’s best enjoyed on a bigger screen.
Footage was captured directly on the Steam Deck using a plugin called Decky Recorder
