Spec Ops: The Line runs great on the Steam Deck

In this video we are taking a look at Spec Ops: The Line on the Steam Deck. The Deck is running on SteamOS 3.5. Spec Ops: The Line is a 2012 third-person shooter video game developed by the German studio Yager Development and published by 2K. As a third-person shooter with an emphasis on squad-based tactics, players can issue commands to Sergeant Lugo and Lieutenant Adams, who accompany the player for most of the game. Available commands include focusing fire on one particular target and ordering medical attention for an injured squad member.

Spec Ops: The Line has a very interesting story line with players constantly having to make decisions and live with the consequences. The game has several endings and the general gameplay becomes darker and darker as you progress through the chapters.

The game runs amazing on the Steam Deck from the get go. I set it up to Proton GE-23, but it also works with older versions or with Proton Experimental. The game is locked at 60 FPS with the highest settings and the Steam Deck can last for almost 3 hours. Spec Ops: The Line has a native controller support and aiming with the pads is quite enjoyable. Overall Spec Ops: The Line is a solid game and a great experience on the Steam Deck.
