Can The Steam Deck Run Monster Hunter World?

In this video we are taking a look at Monster Hunter World on the Steam Deck. The Deck is running on SteamOS 3.5. Monster Hunter World is a 2018 action role-playing game developed and published by Capcom. The fifth mainline installment in the Monster Hunter series. In Monster Hunter: World you can enjoy the ultimate hunting experience, using everything at your disposal to hunt monsters in a new world teeming with surprises and excitement.

The game is locked at 60 FPS with the lowest settings and the Steam Deck can last for about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Unfortunately Monster Hunter World doesn’t support 16:10 and you have to settle for 1280×720 resolution.

You can also run it on Medium settings and it will stay between 50 and 60 FPS most of the time. Battery life is still around 1 hour and 30 minutes. On High settings the game will often drop to 30 FPS and the Steam Deck will get a bit too hot. I recommend playing on low-medium settings.
